Abstract

In February of 2011 Flip Video, a leading maker of shoot and share HD camcorders in the United States (recently bought out and discontinued by Cisco), introduced profile videos on Facebook. The Flip Your Profile app, presented by the Flip Video Singapore team, allows Facebook users to switch their profile picture to a profile video by uploading their videos to Flip's Profile Maker application on Facebook. To be able to upload the video the user has to install an internet browser plug-in and then connect their Facebook account to the Flip Your Profile application. Equally, to be able to see other users' video profiles, each user has to install the app in their internet browsers.
